Thank you for sharing these. In both articles, the question of why Threads is doing this comes up. I think that some people in their organization are smart enough to realize the market is changing, and that they either need to adapt or get left behind. Regulators, businesses, and the general public are all wary and leery of big technology companies controlling information and dialog. And they are probably aware of what happened to search engine giant Yahoo! or social media networks like Friendster and MySpace. Meta could literally go out of business or pushed to the sidelines if they are not careful. They see the writing on the wall, and the writing says to federate.
