Redesigning My Hub

I decided I should take some time to redesign my hub. Since I am starting to follow people on Mastodon and am replying to their posts, I thought it best to update my hub. That way, if someone from Mastodon comes visit my hub, they know that they are looking at a social media platform.

Plus I am using this as a chance to experiment with new widgets that I am creating, that will eventually be added to various Neuhub themes I am working on.

That looks quite different from standard Hubzilla. Congratulations!

No critics, just a personal preference: I like the simple clean standard design of Hubzilla with understatement und a UI using the "pin to the tray" option to open apps like the calendar. But that is a matter of taste. Or, may be I am just to old.

I actually did not make many changes. Just some very subtle things.

And when you mention that I changed the simple clean standard design, I think you are probably referring to the extra nav bar that I added.

I only added that to the public facing pages that visitors might come across, such as your channel or profile. Logged in users rarely visit those pages, unless they are visiting someone else's profile. So, for pages like HQ, this extra nav bar does not appear.

I thought that was the best way to preserve the simple clean design of Hubzilla while providing non-logged in users more navigation.

I like the update. For a new user or a visitor, it makes it easier to navigate.

I only made calendar a navigation item since I intend on posting events. For other websites, I would not put a link to the calendar.

Well, it is pretty much red basic, except with some extra stuff. maybe red plus?

I think the "Red Basic" name comes from the original "Red Matrix" version of the software. So I was thinking just to call it "Neuhub Red" maybe. Because, as you said, it is Red Basic, but with some extra stuff.
