Pro Tip: It is generally a bad idea to send spam to the system administrator. That's probably the fastest way to get a server-wide ban.

Nah. I consider spamming to be unethical. If a company is unethical enough to intentionally spam, then they are probably unethical in other areas too. I wouldn't trust their product or service either.

That's definitely what they are thinking.
I actually have multiple email addresses. One for talking to people, and one for subscribing to stuff. If they send the email to the wrong one, I know instantly that it is spam since I don't use that email to sign up for stuff.
I wish we could get everyone on Hubzilla / ActivityPub private messaging. Then people can't send you stuff unless you approved the connection or subscribed to it.

Private messaging would be ideal, for sure.
I use a service that allows me to do multiple email addresses. Great option.
